Actually, I'm not sure what we love more: the classic, yet fashion-forward designs of Alexis Bittar, or the lovely ladies of Charm & Chain, who provide visitors with succinct little gems of info about all the designers on their site.
I guess we'll call it a draw. And in the meantime, we'll be swooning over these gorgeous summer-specific pieces from Bittar's collection, in my favorite palette of turquoise and gold.

* New York City ladies take note: Alexis Bittar's third Manhattan location has recently opened at 1100 Madison Avenue. The enchantingly designed space is inspiring for designers, brides and fashion aficionados alike. Read more here. *

About the designer: Alexis Bittar launched his eponymous jewelry collections in the early ‘90s; but the Brooklyn native’s artistic flair was evident long before then. As a child, Bittar accompanied his parents to flea markets, where they collected and sold rare antiques. At the age of 10, Bittar showed the first signs of his entrepreneurial spirit by selling flowers across the street from his home from a hand-painted cart he made with his father. Fueled by his passion for antiques, including Art Deco Bakelite and turn-of-the-century Lalique glass, at age 22 Bittar began designing and making Lucite and semi-precious jewelry, selling it on the streets of Soho. Bittar’s bold designs quickly caught the eye of store buyers fromworld-renowned museums, luxury department stores and high-end specialty boutiques- both nationwide and overseas.
Described as “one of the most innovative jewelry designers of the 21st century”, his designs act as cult favorites of A-list celebrities, including Madonna, Cameron Diaz and Alicia Keys, as well as influential fashion icons, such as Karl Lagerfeld and Patricia Field. In 2004 Alexis Bittar won the Accessories Council’s “Rising Star” award and is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Bittar has collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned fashion designers, designing exclusive runway collections for both Michael Kors and Burberry.
